Lemon Ginger Water To Support Detoxing + Boost Metabolism

You won’t find me telling you that this one drink will dramatically change your health, weight, etc… BUT I will tell you that adding a serving of lemon ginger water a day to your routine DOES have some benefits and is likely to make you feel good… plus, it’s just more fun than plain water! Just make a batch & have it ready to sip!

Drinking enough water, staying properly hydrated, has an effect on your metabolism, your weight, your hunger cues, your mood, and your body’s ability to absorb nutrients & detox routinely. Water is the messenger/carrier of nutrients from your food, supplementation, & own gut to where they need to go in the body. Water is also the carrier of toxins out of the body, so you can see how crucial water is for supporting our body’s functioning!

If drinking plain water is a struggle for you, or if you find yourself wanting to break the habit of drinking sodas or other not-so-healthy beverages… this could be a great addition for you! Other benefits include aiding in digestion, anti-inflammation, increase in antioxidants + Vitamin C, and may improve your skin.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with different spices & flavors + make it ahead to have ready in the fridge to make it easy to pour up! You could even warm it up a little and drink it first thing in the morning, but sipping on it any time of day is beneficial!

BASE RECIPE:

2-4 lemons juiced (depends on how much you love lemon!)

1-2 large quarters of ginger root (peel & chop)

dash of cayenne (optional)

water (filtered or RO with pink Himalayan salt added) to fill up container

INSTRUCTIONS:

Blend lemon juice & ginger

Pour through strainer into large container

OR

Slice ginger and just add to the lemon juice & water (if you don’t want to blend & strain)

Add whatever spices, seasonings you choose (cayenne, cinnamon, mint, etc)

Could even add other cut up fruit pieces if you drink it within 24 hours

Fill container with water & store in fridge
